携帯もネットもない時代なので、私も含め当時の若者達はメディアで流される情報を殆ど受け入れていたと思われる。ヒットチャートのトップはCMソングが多く、いかにTVの影響力が凄かったのか分る。マスコミで取り上げられる流行に従わなければダサいと見なされ、とかく皆と歩調をあわせたがる日本人の気質なら、流行おくれと言われることに耐えられなかっただろう。こうしてメディアは大衆を消費行動に駆り立て、追い込み、必要としないものまで買わせるよう仕向けたが、資本主義社会ゆえにこれが可能だった。
